PRODUCT INFORMATION "Esperiega apple jam with quince"

Our gourmet jams are handcrafted in Rincón de Ademuz. Jams of all kinds, with innovative and bold flavors.

The Esperiega apple and quince jam is one of our best-sellers, thanks to its great, tart yet balanced apple flavor, with a unique taste you'll love.

It's made by cooking the apple with sugar and lemon juice until the mixture is fully combined and thickens slightly, then adding the quince and finishing.

The result is soft figs that explode in your mouth when eaten, with a sweet flavor and a honeyed texture. The citrus touch of the orange gives it a perfect flavor. You can accompany them with toast, crackers, or pair them with cheese.

Characteristics:

  • Net weight: 280g
  • Ingredients: Esperiega apple 66%, sugar, lemon juice 21%, and quince 13%
  • Production type: Artisanal, seal of artisanal food.

What is the Esperiega apple?

The Esperiega (or Espedriega) apple is grown in Rincón de Ademuz, province of Valencia (Valencian Community, Spain), although very close to Teruel.

It is characterized by its harvest; the cold weather that dominates the environment in late October and early November gives this fruit its distinctive yellowish-green color.

After harvesting, the fruit is usually left to rest for several weeks, during which time external and internal changes occur: the green of its skin transforms into a deep yellow, its flesh becomes more tender, and its flavor increases.

Although it is native to Rincón de Ademuz, apple trees of this variety can also be found in nearby municipalities of Cuenca and Teruel.
