What are soul cakes?
Alma cakes are a delicious pastry filled with a jam called ALMA: it is the jam that results from cooking the pumpkin called cucurbita pepo with honey and sugar. The filling paste is made with oil, brandy, mistela and flour. With the dough obtained, round pieces of approximately 10 cm in diameter are made, which are filled with the soul jam, closed in the shape of a half-moon and are ready to be cooked. When they come out of the oven they are coated with grain sugar.
